| 英文描述 | THERMOPSIS MONTANA is a plant with widespread distribution in the western United States. It has been suggested that natural poisoning with this plant can cause myopathy resulting in recumbency in cattle. Dehydration may be the cause of death in affected range cattle. Experimental administration of dried and ground whole plant caused death and myopathy in experimental animals. Myoglobinuria and cardiac muscle damage were not detected in experimental animals. On histology there were variable degrees of muscle degeneration, necrosis or regeneration. Muscle enzyme levels were elevated in serum. |
